MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly not interested in a deal that would send former All-Star guard Bradley Beal to Milwaukee. The team is continuing to look for veteran help at the trade deadline.
According to NBA Insider Chris Haynes, “Contrary to popular belief, I was just informed that the Milwaukee Bucks have not inquired about Phoenix Suns’ star Bradley Beal. In fact, it was explained to me that a connection between the two is nonexistent. So if Phoenix is able to acquire Jimmy Butler, it would not come via the Bucks taking on the star guard.”
Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic was informed on Wednesday by Beal’s agent, Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports, that any rumors that he would waive his no-trade clause to join the Bucks, Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, or Los Angeles Lakers were “created out of thin air.”
The Heat’s desire to trade Butler has reportedly increased recently, as the franchise suspended Butler for the second time this month due to his locker room antics. According to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, Butler has lost $3.1 million so far this season due to his suspensions.
Since Chicago has been seeking to move guard Zach LaVine and Milwaukee has been looking for a method to trade Bobby Portis and Pat Connaughton over the past year, it has been reported that the Bucks and the Chicago Bulls have approached the Suns to help them get Jimmy Butler. According to some insiders, the speculated deal could send LaVine to Milwaukee and Beal to Chicago along with several draft picks.
