MAUSTON, WI (WSAU) — Bond has been set at $5 million for the man suspected of killing three females and running from police for more than a week.
Virgil Thew was in a Juneau County courtroom Friday, one day after being arrested in Elroy. Thew is suspected of killing 33-year-old Elizabeth Kolba and two girls, ages 13 and 12, then locking their bodies in the bedroom of their home and leaving.
Officers initially named him a person of interest, but a few days later he was charged with the killings. He remained on the run for ten days before officers arrested him without incident on Thursday.
