WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) After 34 years of service, Wisconsin Rapids Fire Chief Todd Eckes hung up his hat for the final time on December 31.
The chief spent his last 18 years with the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department. He made the decision to retire in October.
In a Facebook post, the department wrote, “His leadership and dedication advanced the organization in many ways, always seeking to provide the best service to the community. He will enjoy time with friends and a beautiful, growing family; a new grandchild was born into his family today! Congratulations.”
