MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The latest nominee list for the Naismith Basketball Hall Of Fame contains a number of connections to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Current Bucks coach Doc Rivers is a nominee. He has a career record of 1,128 -793 for five franchises and currently has the 8th most wins in NBA coaching history.
Two former Bucks players are also on the list.
Marques Johnson, 68 was a five time All-Star over an 11 year career. He averaged over 20 points and 7 rebounds a game.
Jon McGlocklin is a nominee in the contributor category. The 81 year old McGlocklin was a fan favorite as a member of the first Bucks team in 1968-69. He helped the Bucks win a championship in 1971, After an eight-year career with Milwaukee he moved to the broadcast booth for 35 years. He also founded the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) which has reportedly raises over $57 million to fight childhood cancer.
Former Buck Terry Cummings is also on the list of nominees.
Finalists will be names Feb 14th as part of the NBA’s All-Star Weekend. The next HOF class will be unveiled on April 5th.
