MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers have added another pitcher to their rotation as the club looks to add extra depth to their roster heading into the new year.
Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports that left-hander Bruce Zimmermann has reached a minor league agreement with the Brewers and will be a non-roster invitee to big league camp this spring.
The 29-year-old Zimmermann has appeared in four seasons pitching for the Baltimore Orioles from 2020 to 2023 for 158 1/3 innings, primarily out of the rotation, and recorded a 5.57 ERA during that time.
After Freddy Peralta, Brandon Woodruff, recently acquired Nestor Cortes, Aaron Civale, and Tobias Myers are anticipated to start, Zimmermann will provide the Brewers with some more reasonably priced rotation depth. Milwaukee will also have left-handed pitchers Aaron Ashby and DL Hall available, who may see action as starters or out of the bullpen.
