MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The state of Wisconsin has finalized its 2024 general election process, and all 10 of the Badger state’s electoral college votes will be going to President-Elect Donald Trump and Vice President-Elect JD Vance.
In 2024, President-Elect Trump became only the second Republican presidential candidate to win Wisconsin since 1984 as he made gains in 68 out of 72 counties.
In a press release, state GOP chairman Brian Schimming celebrated the victory saying, “On behalf of the State of Wisconsin, we are proud to officially cast Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes for President Donald J. Trump and Vice President-Elect JD Vance. On election night, Wisconsin secured the Presidency for Donald J. Trump in the greatest political comeback in American history. Our state and nation looks forward to the Trump Administration’s America First agenda to restore our economy and secure our border.”
While Harris received 37,000 more votes than Joe Biden in 2020 and more than Barack Obama did in 2012, Trump’s 1.69 million votes set a record for the most votes ever won in the state by a presidential candidate as more than 3.3 million Wisconsin voters cast ballots in last month’s election.
