STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Stevens Point Central Transportation will waive bus fares on Thursday.
City leaders announced the move after a cold weather advisory was posted for much of Central Wisconsin that day. Thursday’s air temps are expected to reach 5 degrees with wind chill values between -15 and -15.
“This initiative ensures a safe, warm space for those who need it,” said leaders.
The free rides will apply to all fixed-route buses.
Bus rides will also be free on Friday, December 13th as part of the city’s free rides for the holidays initiative, which encourages residents to support downtown businesses as they go through their Christmas shopping lists.
