STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The National Weather Service has recognized Stevens Point as a StormReady community.
This designation acknowledges the community’s preparation for severe weather events to ensure our residents’ safety. Details considered in the designation included the city’s emergency management plan, Emergency communication methods, and community training programs.
The NWS StormReady program is “designed to help communities prepare for severe weather, ensuring they have the proper infrastructure and resources in place to respond effectively,” according to a press release from the city.
