GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Two of the Packers biggest stars will be undergoing further testing on Monday after suffering injuries during the Packers 30-27 win over Jacksonville.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, quarterback Jordan Love’s status for Sunday’s game against the Lions is “TBD,” as the team believes he avoided suffering a serious long-term injury. Head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters during his postgame interview that he felt Love could no longer protect himself from worsening the injury, which is what led to backup Malik Willis entering the game.
Pelissero reported that the team plans to do more testing on Monday in hopes that Love can practice on a limited basis on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reports that cornerback Jaire Alexander will have an MRI done on his knee on Monday after he limped off the field during the 4th quarter on Sunday. Demovsky further stated that Alexander struggled to put weight on his right leg after the play, and it remains to be seen if Alexander will be available for Sunday’s game against the Lions.
