PARK FALLS, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin State Patrol has identified the victims of last weekend’s deadly crash on State Highway 13 near Park Falls.
Investigators determined the head-on crash involved a Buick Lasabre, driven by 56-year-old Gordan Brunette of Rice Lake, and a Ford pickup driven by Gerald Yunk of Butternut. Brunette was driving north when his vehicle drifted across the center line and struck the pickup.
Brunette died at the scene. Yunk required extraction from his vehicle and was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
According to the State Patrol Yunk was taken to Marshfield Medical Center in Park Falls. Officials have not given an update on his condition.
The incident closed Highway 13 for several hours on Saturday. Investigators from the Price and Barron County Sheriff’s Offices responded to the scene along with ambulance and fire crews from Park Falls. No further information has been released.
