MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — A Merrill man is facing attempted homicide and substantial battery charges after police responded to multiple 911 calls from the same address on Saturday.
It started with a female reporting a domestic disturbance involving her boyfriend, Bradly LaBarge, shortly after 8 AM. While officers were responding, they received a second report from another person who said LaBarge had pulled a knife and cut him.
Officers found a man with a significant stab wound to his neck. That victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and released. LaBarge was arrested and booked into the Lincoln County jail.
The 31-year-old made his initial appearance on Monday where a judge set his bond at $200,000. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for November 7th.
He faces a mandatory life sentence for the attempted homicide count alone. Additional charges against him include misdemeanor criminal damage to property and resisting or obstructing an officer.
Investigators haven’t released a motive for the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
