PITTSBURGH, PA (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers started their final week of the regular season with a 7-2 over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night.
Joey Ortiz had three RBIs and Sal Frelick drove in two. The other RBIs went to Willy Adames and Rhys Hoskins who drew back-to-back bases loaded walks in a three run 7th inning.
Starter Tobias Meyers gave up two runs on six hits over four innings and the Brewers bullpen was stellar again. Hoby Milner, Colon Rea, Trevor Megill, Joel Payamps and Joe Ross tossed five scoreless innings giving up just four hits.
The Brewers picked up a game on both the Phillies and Dodgers in their battle for a wildcard bye in the playoffs. They play Pittsburgh again tonight…pre game show at 5:05 on WSAU.
