PHOENIX, AZ (WSAU) — Freddy Peralta pitched effectively for five innings and Rhys Hoskins brought home two on a 4th inning homer to lift the Brewers to a 2-1 win over Arizona on Friday.
Peralta scattered six hits and allowed one run on a first-inning sacrifice fly. Arizona recorded four walks off the starter as well.
Four relievers teamed up to keep the Diamondbacks off the board over the final four innings including Devin Williams, who recorded his 12th save of the season.
Hoskin’s tater brought home Gary Sanchez. It was also one of just two extra-base hits for the Crew.
Joey Ortiz recorded two hits including a double. Jackson Chourio also doubled.
Milwaukee’s magic number to clinch a postseason berth now sits at five. The Brewers and Diamondbacks will play game two of their series tonight at Chase Field, pregame coverage on WSAU begins at 6:35 PM.
