GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Packers are expecting their newly signed star running back to return to practice in the near future as Josh Jacobs continues to rehab a hamstring injury.
Head coach Matt LaFleur, who spoke about the matter after practice on Tuesday, stated that the injury is considered a minor concern and that “I know everybody’s going to freak out, but he’s on the mend, he’s doing a good job, and we anticipate him back pretty shortly.”
The Packers re-signed A.J. Dillion to a one-year deal this offseason and drafted former USC star running back Marshawn Lloyd in the third round of the 2024 NFL draft to help carry the load alongside Jacobs and give the offense the ability to give defenses several different possible looks throughout a game.
Jacob’s, 26, hasn’t missed a game throughout his NFL career due to a hamstring injury but did miss four games in 2023 due to a bruise on his thigh after not missing any games for the Raiders during the 2022 season.
