Apartments on Grand Avenue and Eat Thomas Street in Wausau, WI
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – An apartment building is under construction on Grand Avenue and is moving forward with plans to open in the summer of 2026.
According to a news release from the Commonwealth Development Corporation, the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) granted $32.5 million in competitive federal and state housing tax credits last week to advance affordable housing and economic recovery in Wisconsin.
With the approval of these funds, the apartment complex will be constructed at the corner of 700 Grand and East Thomas Street in Wausau. Commonwealth Development Corporation also earned approximately $1.7 million in tax credits to support the upcoming project, according to the statement.
The apartment complex will feature a four-story midrise building with 50 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Underground parking will also be provided.
