BRILLION-Calumet County Farm Bureau will be hosting Classroom on the Farm at Woldt Farms LLC in Brillion on April 18th. Approximately 400 fourth grade students from Chilton School District, New Holstein School District, Hilbert School District, Janet Berry School, Holy Family School-Brillion, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran- Menasha, Reedsville, Holyland Catholic, Divine Savior, and Trinity Rantoul. Two groups of students will attend from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Students will rotate through eight stations on various agricultural topics including: Let’s Milk a Cow, Wisconsin Agricultural Diversity, Beef, The Cow Doctor, A Day in the Life of a Cow, Farm Machinery, Cow Food and Crops, and Baby Calves. Presenters include local dairy farmers as well as area professionals from NutriQuest, Country Visions Cooperative, Vanderloop Equipment, WI Beef Council, Compeer Financial, and Kiel Veterinary.Each student will receive a backpack of agricultural information representing all of Wisconsin agriculture, local agritourism opportunities, and some Wisconsin product samples. Teachers will receive informational packets to assist in follow up learning in the classroom.
