GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Iola, Wisconsin native Kristian Welch announced on social media on Wednesday that he has resigned with the Packers after playing well in 2023.
According to the Packers Wire, Welch, 25, announced the deal on his Instagram account after joining the Packers practice squad before Week 1 last season and was elevated to the active roster in September. He played in 14 games and 210 overall snaps on special teams, recording six special teams tackles.
Welch was one of just five Packers players who played at least 200 special teams snaps in 2023. Welch had six solo tackles and one assisted tackle on special teams according to Pro Football Focus, and he was the Packers’ sixth-highest-ranked special teamer last season.
