WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A Democratic super PAC is set to spend big in the Badger state this election as a new ad against a U.S. Senate Candidate is set to appear on a channel in your area in the coming days.
According to Politico, the Senate Majority PAC’s new $2 million ad will label Republican Eric Hovde a “multi-millionaire California banker” and will tell voters to not “bank on” him being on Wisconsin’s side if he were to head to Washington.
“No matter how many bizarre videos he posts online, Wisconsin voters will see Hovde for the out-of-touch carpetbagger that he really is,” said Senate Majority PAC President JB Poersch in a statement to Politico.
In a response to the ad, National Republican Senatorial Committee spokesperson Mike Berg posted on X saying, “How bad are @TammyBaldwin and @SenSchumer panicking about @EricHovde?” Dane County Republican Chair Brandon Maly also criticized the ad on X saying, “Eric Hovde is undoubtedly one of the Top 3 Senate candidates keeping Chuck Schumer awake at night.”
The Hovde campaign responded to the ad by releasing a new ad of their own featuring his wife Sharon going through Hovde’s life in Wisconsin and talking about his nonprofit work. See the full ad below.

The latest Emerson College poll released in late February found incumbent Tammy Baldwin currently leads Hovde by 7 points. However, 15% of respondents answered that they are currently undecided on who they will support in the race come November.
