T'Eliq Whitelow
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man accused of breaking into a home and beating the occupant with a gun has entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him.
T’Eliq Whitelow entered the plea on Monday for counts of burglary, recklessly endangering safety, and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct through the use of a dangerous weapon. He is jailed on a $100,000 cash bond, though has requested a bond modification.
The 19-year-old is accused of breaking into an east-side home by climbing in through a basement window. When the occupant went to the kitchen to check on what was happening, he was confronted by the intruders and beaten with a handgun.
The man’s nephew was also injured and threatened in the incident.
Whitelow was immediately named as a suspect and an arrest warrant was issued on June 8th. He remained at large until last December when he was taken into custody in Milwaukee County.
A second suspect in the incident has not been named, and it’s unclear if any charges have been brought against them.
Whitelow is facing up to 55 years in prison on the felony counts alone. He’ll return to court on March 4th for a bond hearing. A pretrial conference is set for March 19th.
