WSAU State of Affairs Podcast
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – WSAU News is adding a new podcast with reporter and host Tom Schumacher that will take listeners inside the mechanics of local, state, and national elections.
The show’s first four episodes include some of the state’s top political minds from all across the spectrum, such as Dane County GOP Chair Brandon Maley, UWSP Political Science Professor Emiratis Ed Miller, Wisconsin Rep. Pat Snyder, and Milwaukee County GOP Chair Hilario DeLeon.
“I am excited to add this to our already robust news and information lineup,” said WSAU News Director Mike Leischner. “Schumacher has a deep understanding of the details that can make or break a campaign, and this podcast is a way to share that knowledge base with our listeners in a new way.”
I will serve as host and producer of the podcast, which will feature a rotating list of guests from all levels of politics. New episodes will be released 3–4 times a month on Thursdays, with the potential for more frequent episodes in the weeks leading up to the general election on November 5th.
This podcast’s goal will be to inform voters about what is going on politically in our state and around the nation at a time when there is a need for more podcasts from those who live in central Wisconsin on national platforms that provide our readers and listeners with a deep dive into the issues that matter most from a local perspective. From recent national and state polls to what’s happening legislatively in Madison or inside the D.C. beltway, the State of Affairs will have you covered.
