MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Democrats in the Wisconsin Legislature introduce paid family medical leave legislation.
“We know that for the economic security and the care for our working Wisconsin families and working Wisconsinites, legislation and policies that include paid leave are critical,” said Representative Francesca Hong of Madison. “No one should ever have to choose between care for themselves or a loved one and a paycheck.”
The bill was released for co sponsorship on Wednesday, but with the legislative session winding down is unlikely to receive a public hearing.
It would mandate 14 weeks combined between medical and family leave and 12 weeks of leave for just one of the two.
