APPLETON, WI (WSAU) – A Wisconsin native was honored in Los Angeles, California, on Monday with a star on the infamous Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Willem Dafoe, 68, has stared in many beloved films throughout his career, including John Wick, Spider-Man, Aquaman, Finding Nemo, and Platoon, and made mention of his Wisconsin roots during his acceptance speech, saying, “The little town that I come from, Appleton, Wisconsin, it’s maybe a town of 70,000 people now; someone else from that town has a star. And his name was Erik Weisz. You know who that is? Maybe you know him better by the name of Harry Houdini,” Dafoe said. “So I’m in good company.”
