WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) –Central Wisconsin has had the occasional bout of snow in the past few months like on Halloween, but none of it has stuck around long. That’s not stopping the first day of operations for Sylvan Hill in Wausau
Thanks to snow-making operations one hill will be open starting at 6:00 PM Friday.
“We were able to get the one hill complete,” said Assistant Director of the City of Wausau Parks and Recreation Andrew Sims. “Started on the second one and then the weather took another turn for us, but we are able to open this weekend.”
The second hill looks more like Spring when half the snow has melted after a rainstorm, according to WAOW TV.
The chalet will also be open with tubers able to pause to get some snacks and beverages. Ticket sales are located in the chalet basement and are $11 for adults and $8 for kids.
