TAMPA, FL (WSAU) — Wisconsin’s Sarah Franklin has been named the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Year, making her the second Badger volleyball player to win the prestigious honor in the last three years.
The Outside Hitter led the Badgers with 6.4 kills per set this season, which ranked her in the top 30 nationally. She recorded 10+ in 29 of the Badgers’ 34 matches this season. She also recorded nearly two passes per set and had eight double-doubles this season.
The Senior led Wisconsin to a 30-4 record in 2023 and another top-four seed in the NCAA tournament. Their run ended Thursday with a loss to Texas in the NCAA Final Four in Tampa.
