MADISON (WKOW-WAOW-WSAU) — For the fourth time in the last five years, the Wisconsin Badgers volleyball team is headed to the Final Four. The Badgers defeated Oregon 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 25-27, 25-18) on Saturday night to earn their spot in the NCAA Tournament.
The Badgers were led by the Big Ten Player of the Year Sarah Franklin. She had 20 kills on the night. Temi Thomas-Ailara, who is in her first-ever postseason after transferring from Northwestern, added 11 kills. Anna Smrek was the other Badgers player in double digits with 10 kills.
The semifinals begin Thursday in Tampa Florida.
