STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A former Plover youth pastor who pled guilty to two counts of repeated sexual assault of a teen will serve 20 years in state prison on the charges.
Jordan Huffman was sentenced on Tuesday in a Stevens Point courtroom.
Charges against him go back to 2017 when investigators say he was tasked with mentoring a child because they were acting out at school and had started drinking alcohol. It’s believed that Huffman assaulted the victim multiple times over three years, stopping only after the victim told him they no longer wanted to do anything sexual.
Conditions of his extended supervision include a no-contact order with the victim and the victim’s family. He will also not be allowed to serve as a pastor unless approved by his supervising agent and will not be allowed to have contact with anyone under the age of 18, including members of his own family.
The 52-year-old was given credit for some time already served in jail.
He’s also facing charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child and child enticement in Winnebago County. A plea and sentencing hearing in that case is scheduled for October 31st.
