MERRILL, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A Merrill woman is charged with trying to kill her autistic teenage son.
Heather O’Neill, 53, allegedly tried to overdose herself and her son on various narcotics before calling 911.
When they arrived at the residence, officials say O’Neill confessed to giving her and her son the narcotics and informed them that her son urgently needed to be taken to the hospital. According to court records, she initially refused treatment.
According to records, her son experienced a seizure, turned blue in the face, and briefly stopped breathing at the hospital. At this hour, if his condition has improved.
Officials say O’Neill wrote in her suicide letter that she could no longer endure her son’s violent tantrums.
O’Neill is accused of committing multiple felonies, including attempted homicide.
