TOMAH, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Tomah Police are investigating the shooting of one man and the wounding of another man in two separate places in Tomah early Monday morning.
According to a release from Chief Scott Holum, police received a report at 12:44 a.m. to the Super 8 Hotel at 1008 E. McCoy Boulevard for an adult male who had been shot with a handgun.
They located the man and began administering first aid. According to the statement, the subject was conscious and alert when he was transferred to Tomah Health for treatment.
Officers were called to an apartment complex at 1028 Berry Avenue about 15 minutes later, according to Chief Holum, for a person who was bleeding profusely.
They discovered a semiconscious adult male with head injuries. First responders assisted the man before transporting him to Tomah Health. Gundersen Air then transported the man to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.
With assistance from the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, Chief Holum stated that his agency is continuing to look into both incidents.
