SHAWANO, WI (WSAU) — The man accused of strangling a woman to death in the summer of 2022 will have a week-long trial for one count of homicide.
Michael Ingold will go to trial from September 11th through the 15th. Autopsy results on the woman showed she died by strangulation, though Ingold denies having touched her.
Investigators note that there have been previous incidents between Ingold and the woman, including a case from 2021 in which he was accused of strangling her and operating a firearm while intoxicated.
Ingold faces one count of first-degree intentional homicide in a domestic abuse setting. He faces a mandatory life sentence if found guilty, with only the possibility of parole to be discussed at sentencing.
A final pre-trial conference will be held on August 14th.
