WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce has announced a free workshop on the challenges facing Central Wisconsin’s business community.
The Rural Resurgence event has been scheduled for June 12th at Northcentral Technical College from 8 AM to Noon and will feature a variety of local, regional, and state speakers.
Greater Wausau Chamber CEO Dave Eckman says the region is at a disadvantage when it comes to workforce development and retention, but there are efforts underway to change that.
“Given our challenges, there are many efforts underway to reshape our future here in the Wausau area and throughout Wisconsin. Together, we can positively change the economic environment [in] central Wisconsin for the better. It’s not a fast and easy task. It will take perseverance and hard work,” said Eckman in a press release from the Chamber.
Presenters and facilitators include Eckman, Angel Whitehead of Centergy, Marathon County Board Chairman Kurt Gibbs, and Marathon County Administrator Lance Leonhard.
The event is free but pre-registration is required. More information on how to register and a full schedule of events can be found here.
