WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Eastbay, a brand born in Wausau, will no longer exist into the new year.
An announcement on the company’s website states that parent company Foot Locker will be ending the Eastbay brand by the end of December. This comes after it was announced in October that the company would be closing a distribution center in Wausau, cutting some 210 jobs. Most of those employees will be laid off next week, the rest will come by the end of April.

According to a frequently asked questions page regarding the closure, all Eastbay orders that have been placed will still ship but items cannot be returned. Many items that are currently for sale at the Eastbay website have been marked down by as much as 70%. The notice encourages customers to turn to other Foot Locker family brands including Champs Sports for their future needs.
Gift cards with the Eastbay branding will be honored at other Foot Locker-affiliated stores.
Eastbay also quietly closed its retail store on Stewart Avenue over the summer. That location was known for providing deep discounts on shoes and other athletic apparel through its periodic yellow tag and white tag sales.
