WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The city of Wausau is opening the Yard Waste Site for those who are looking to get rid of downed branches and other storm debris.
The site is open today until 5 PM and will open again next week Monday through Thursday, the 19th through the 22nd.
There will be some hours over the weekend as well.
A round of winter weather which started as ice and freezing rain, then changed to snow by the middle of the week, left many with downed branches and other debris. The incident also knocked out power to nearly 10,000 customers across the Wisconsin Public Service area.
As of Friday afternoon about 165 customers are still without power, most in the Town of Bergen.
