GREENFIELD, WI (WSAU) — A man accused of lifting nearly $30,000 worth of goods from a Marshfield furniture store was arrested last week.
Police say Timothy Lavelle Litt was in the Milwaukee area on September 20th following another attempt to commit fraud at an unspecified business.
The 28-year-old is accused of using a fraudulent credit card to steal furniture from Mall Furniture in late August. Investigators say the purchases were made on two different days- one involving around $15,000 and another for $13,000.
The credit card reader initially declined the transactions, but Litt provided a PIN which did allow the transactions to process. Store management would later learn that the purchases were declined.
The suspect hauled the furniture away in a white Penske truck.
No further details on the Milwaukee-area incident were released.

Police in Marshfield say Litt had a female with him, who identified herself as Antoinette Williams, at the time of the incidents in their city. It’s unclear if she was with Litt at the time of his arrest.
It’s believed that Litt pulled off similar schemes in other locations across Wisconsin and the region.
