WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – Artrageous Weekend, one of Wausau’s biggest tourist events, is here.
The event includes artists, crafters, and art vendors. More than 100 juried artists have booked exhibit space. Artrageous events attract visitors from around the country, and many tour busses from Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan.
Artists will be at Marathon Park and at the 400-block downtown, where there will also be children’s activities and music. The weekend also includes the opening of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum’s new Birds In Art exhibit. There’s also an art show at the Center for Visual Arts next to the Grand Theater.
Booths open at 10am on both days. There will be a proclamation from Mayor Katie Rosenberg on Saturday morning.
Free shuttle busses will take people to and from all three locations.
The weather isn’t favorable for the weekend. Rain and thunderstorms are likely Saturday, with clouds and scattered showers on Sunday.
