MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The FBI has arrested a 21-year-old Plover man in connection with the riots at the US Capitol on January 6th, 2021.
Colin Weyer was arrested and appeared before a judge in the US District Court in Madison on Friday. He’s facing four counts in connection with the incident including entering and remaining in a restricted building, disorderly conduct in a restricted building, and pandering demonstrating, or picketing in the capitol building.
According to the complaint, investigators were able to tie Weyer to the events of the day thanks to cell phone data provided by AT&T and through images and video taken during the incident. At least one of Weyer’s high school classmates was also able to place him in the Capitol that day.
Weyer is scheduled to go before a judge in the US District Court for the District of Columbia on June 17th.
