SCHOFIELD, WI (WSAU) — A Schofield Alder has announced her intentions to run for the 85th Assembly District seat in Madison.
Kristin Conway made the announcement Friday morning on Facebook, saying “For the last two years we have seen the Republican majority continually roadblock any real progress in Wisconsin. The legislature adjourned in March to give themselves an almost three hundred day vacation, leaving hundreds of bills sitting in committees. The rest of us are left wondering what the lawmakers are actually doing for us.”
Conway, a Democrat, adds she intends to be a “reasonable voce” for the district in Madison.
She’ll hold a campaign kick-off event Friday, May 13th at Kin & Kind Public House in Wausau. She’s also established a campaign website at www.Conwayforthe85th.com.
Conway grew up in Central Wisconsin and is a graduate of St. Norbert College in De Pere. She has lived in Schofield for the last 15 years with her husband and four children and represents Ward 1 on the Schofield City Council.
The 85th Assembly seat is currently held by Republican Pat Snyder, who has announced he will seek re-election this fall.
