MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Representatives from Wisconsin Public Service say progress has been made on restoring power to customers impacted by Wednesday storms.
As of Friday afternoon, 15,100 customers were still without electricity according to WPS. Spokesman Brendan Conway says they are expecting 90% of those customers to be back on by Friday night.
Conway adds for those in the hardest-hit areas it could be a couple of days before the lights are back on, as crews have come across significant damage to the network in some areas.
Extra crews have been brought in to help restore power, along with some 200 WPS workers already on the ground through the service area.
