WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Once again smoke from a distant fire is making its way through Central Wisconsin.
This time it’s the Greenwood Fire in Minnesota that’s sending the smoke our way, according to WAOW Meteorologist Jackson Garlock.
Police and Fire officials in Wausau both confirmed the news as well, saying no fires are burning in the area, so if you smell smoke do not be alarmed.
Garlock says winds should shift later this afternoon, clearing the smoke from the area. In the meantime, those who are sensitive to particles in the air may want to stay indoors if possible.
