THREE LAKES, WI (WSAU) — More information has been released regarding a car vs pedestrian accident that killed a Three Lakes man.
The victim has been identified as 59-year-old George Steinhaus, who was attempting to get a pickup out of the ditch along Highway X in Oneida County.
Investigators say George was run over by the vehicle as it was backing out of the ditch. He was declared dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Samuel Steinhaus has been arrested on suspicion of 3rd offense OWI, homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, operating a vehicle with a revoked license, and failure to install an ignition lock device.
A release from the Three Lakes Police Department did not indicate if Samuel and George were related to each other. The incident remains under investigation.
