Another mink farm in Taylor County has a serious COVID-19 outbreak which is killing the mink. So far the farm has lost over 2,000 mink due to the virus. This adds to the over 3,400 that have died at a separate Taylor County mink farm since the beginning of October.
To be clear, the National Veterinary Services Laboratories said the mink are dying from SARS-CoV-2, which is the virus that causes humans to get COVID-19. Both mink farms are being quarantined at the moment. Wisconsin isn’t the only area dealing with mink issues related to the virus because earlier this year a similar event happened in Utah.
