STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Officers in Stevens Point have arrested a man and woman after an attempted traffic stop turned into a short chase through residential neighborhoods.
Officers say they attempted a stop near Michigan Ave and Clark St when they observed a vehicle driving recklessly and following too close. The vehicle then took off into residential neighborhoods.
Officers called off the chase for the safety of pedestrians after the vehicle blew through some stop signs. They later caught up with the suspects in Iverson Park, where they were arrested.
Both individuals in the vehicle, a man and a woman, are now facing numerous unspecified charges. Names of those involved have not been released.
All entrances to the park were blocked off while the arrest was made.
