CHARLOTTE, NC (WSAU)– NASCAR announced the reinstatement of driver Kyle Larson on Monday. He had been suspended indefinitely for using a racial slur back in April.
In a statement NASCAR officials said, “Kyle Larson has fulfilled the requirements set by NASCAR and has taken several measures to better educate himself so he can use his platform to help bridge the divide in our country”.
The 28 year old previously drove for Chip Ganassi racing before losing his ride after the incident. He is expected to get the open ride in the # 88 car for Hendrick Motorsports.
Larson will be cleared to partake in all NASCAR racing activities on january 1
