WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) The Woodson Art Museum will close temporarily starting on Friday, October 9. Museum managers say it is a ‘proactive closing’ because of rising COVID-19 cases in the community.
There are no known positive COVID-19 cases among staff, volunteers or visitors. They say the measure is precautionary due to the rise in cases in the community and state-wide, and is in keeping with local health department recommendations to limit group gathering and to minimize trips out of the house.
The museum is closed until further notice. Staff will continue to monitor COVID-19 data, and that will determine when the museum reopens.
The Woodson says much of the artwork in their collections are available for online viewing, and their website has activity guides and audio tours.
