27 years is a long time. It's the span of time that Neal McCoy has notched yearly Hodag appearances. In that time he won the hearts of the fans (Nealbillies), became the traditional Sunday night festival closer, and made relationships along the way. “It has become a family,” he told a Rhinelander

. “I probably like some of these people out here more than some of my family members.”
Speaking of family. He brings his to Hodag. “Our son is 25, and the only Hodag he missed was 25 years ago, because he was just a month old,” he told Bryan and Chandra, “But he's made everyone since.” McCoy traveled to Rhinelander with his wife, daughter, son, nanny, and two grand kids.

Maybe you noticed the lighthearted jabs going back and forth Sunday at Hodag between Terri Clark and Neal McCoy. She called him out on stage, not knowing he was standing side stage. The digs continued later. “She said she's the one that put the ho back in Hodag,” joked McCoy.
