Let's talk cover songs, you know the songs that had an original artist(s) and was redone by another artist (i.e. “Take It Easy”, orginally done by the Eagles, remade by Travis Tritt).
Admittedly, I've been in radio for 19 years now, so I'm kind of a music snob and not a huge fan of cover tunes, that was until Chris Stapleton came out with “Millionaire”, originally done by the late, great George Jones. Chris says this on way he decided to put it on his album,
“I love that song. I would always sit around the house playing that song to myself on guitar. It's fun to play. It's fun to sing. It's a great melody. It's great lyrics. It's great everything. To me, that's a great song, and I just loved it, so it was time to do it.”
