MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 in game one of the National League Championship Series on Monday night at American Family Field.
Dodger starter Blake Snell was dominate in this one pitching 8 innings of shutout ball giving up just one hit and striking out 10 with no walks.
Freddie Freeman hit a solo homer in the 6th inning to give LA the lead. They added a run in the top of the ninth which proved to be big. Brewer closer Abner Uribe had three walks in that ninth inning.
The Brewers mounted a comeback in the 9th against the LA bullpen. Jackson Chourio had a sac-fly to pull Milwaukee within one run and they loaded the bases with two outs. Brice Turang was almost hit by a pitch that would have tied it. He then struck out on the next pitch to end the game.
The Dodgers lead the series 1-0 and the teams will play game two tonight…pre-game show at 6:30 on WSAU.
