GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Jaire Alexander, a cornerback for the Green Bay Packers, and Quay Walker, a linebacker, missed all three of this week’s sessions and are not expected to play on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
According to Packers Wire, Alexander is recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered during the victory over the Los Angeles Rams last week. Walker missed the game against the Rams last Friday due to groin soreness, and he hasn’t practiced since.
If Alexander is not able to play Sunday, the Packers would likely turn to rookie 7th-round pick Carrington Valentine to start in his place alongside Keisean Nixon and Corey Ballentine.
Green Bay did get some good news though, as center Josh Myers, guard Jon Runyan Jr., and tackle Yash Nijman appear likely to play against the Steelers’ tough defensive line after returning to practice the last two days.
Other notable players who appear likely to play Sunday include Christian Watson, who was a full participant on Thursday and Friday, while defensive lineman Kenny Clark continued practice on a limited basis.
