MILWAUKEE, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) Brandon Woodruff gave up all four runs as the Brewers fell to the Cardinals 4-2 in the first game of their doubleheader at Miller Park.
Woodruff pitched all seven innings, giving up seven hits, including two homers, and striking out five. Keston Hiura hit a two-run homer in the first for Milwaukee.
Meanwhile, four Brewers pitchers combined on a two-hitter as they shut out the Cardinals 6-0 in the second game.
Ryan Braun launched a three-run homer and Jacob Nottingham added a two-run blast. Freddy Peralta pitched two perfect innings, striking out three, to get the win.
Milwaukee has alternated wins and losses over its last six games to land at 23-and-26. The Brewers host the Royals for three games starting tomorrow.
