WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Multiple fire crews responded to a structure fire at the 2000 block of Grand Avenue just after midnight.
It’s unclear how many people were displaced, but fire officials said everyone made it out. One person suffered minor injuries.
“There will be no occupants tonight in this building, probably for awhile,” said Tim Bingham, Battalion Chief with Wausau Fire Department. “So all residents will be displaced tonight and for the near future. It did extend through the roof on the other side of the building, and there’s heavy damage to one of the apartments.”
Buses were called on the scene for those who were displaced.
Fire officials said it was reported the fire was on a porch. They said the fire extended to the attic of the building.
