Every year hunters are asked to think about donating a deer to the Deer Donation Program put on by the Wisconsin DNR. Since the program was established in 2000, hunters have donated over 92,000 deer and about 3.7 million pounds of venison to those in need. These donations are distributed to food pantries all over Wisconsin. This program has made a huge difference in people’s lives. So if you happen to get a deer and you feel like helping out others, the Deer Donation Program might be a good fit for you.
